The Petiwinkle is a monster based on the butterfly. "Petiwinkle" is derived from "periwinkle", referring to the color of their wings. The "Peti-" in the name can also be derived from "petite", referring to its miniscule size.

Biology Edit

Petiwinkles are tiny, winged monsters. They are very small, growing to an average height of an inch. Their bodies are composed of a head and an abdomen, all of which is in a yellow color. They have a pair of curly antennae on their spherical heads. They have large, pink eyes above their tiny mouths and small freckles on their cheeks. They wear small crowns crafted from grass. Petiwinkles have a pair of wings, the colors of which vary between Petiwinkles from different regions (though the wings have generally have at least some shade of blue).

Large groups of Petiwinkles can be found at areas with a lot of flora, such as meadows. They feed on flower pollen and nectar, which they share a large part in cultivating.

Behavior and abilities Edit

Petiwinkles exhibit drastically different behavior when they are alone and when they are with other Petiwinkles. When alone, they are very timid, fleeing from nearly everything that moves. When with other Petiwinkles, though, they will not hesitate to play tricks on other monsters, including monsters that are much bigger then it.

Petiwinkles have a variety of magical tricks they can perform.

Pollinate. The Petiwinkle flaps its wings forward, releasing a blast of pink, glittery magic at a target. When the target is a flower, the Petiwinkle can fire another blast at another flower, pollinating both. When the target is not a flower, the target is briefly stunned (whenever possible).

Throw magic. The Petiwinkle flaps its wings forward, releasing a blast of green, glittery magic at a target, attempting to briefly confuse it. The target would hear a voice from where there is none, throwing them off.

Teleport. The Petiwinkle spins in place in a glittery manner before teleporting to a different position. The range is not very long (usually a maximum of only four feet away), though the Petiwinkle's small size typically ensures an escape.
